A number of special events and activities scheduled as part of Greendale’s 75th Anniversary celebration, now less than five months away, are inching toward receiving the official green light Tuesday. At its next meeting, the Village Board is expected to approve plans for a number of events that will highlight the five-day birthday extravaganza to be included as part of Village Days Aug. 7-11. "The 75th anniversary committee has been doing a really nice job of planning these event," Village President John Hermes said. Greendale trustees approve hiring a company to run a laser light show as part of an extended Village Days program next year to celebrate the 75th year of the village.
Greendale is adding a little pizzazz to its 75th Anniversary celebration with the addition of a laser light show. The Greendale Village Board gave unanimous approval Tuesday to hire Connecticut Lasers to run a laser light show on Aug. 8 in front of village hall. The show will last one hour and be projected down Broad Street. “I think it’s going to be a great addition to the event,” Trustee James Birmingham said. Village Days is scheduled to increase from three days to five days in 2013 and the laser light show will be added as part of the additional days.
