The new consignment boutique in the Village Center carries higher-name brands of gently used clothing for women and men, as well as women accessories.
Walking into Trading Closets one can’t help but to notice the old glamour Hollywood style of this new consignment clothing store. The wall prints of Audrey Hepburn, Marilyn Monroe, Jackie Kennedy Onassis and many other iconic stars hang throughout the shop with oldie songs like Frank Sinatra playing in the background. Trading Closets, the new kid on the block in Downtown Greendale, sells gently used women's and men's clothing, shoes, purses, jewelry and home furnishings. It opened on June 18 at the old Caesar's Pet location. Three women who were looking for a change came together to open the boutique. New resale boutique will open in mid June.
Trading Closets, a women and men's resale boutique, will open mid-June. A flyer posted outside of the old Caesar's Pet location says the tentative opening is June 18 but will have limited hours the week of June 11. Caesar's Pet closed in December after more than three years of being in business due to the economy. The shop is owned by three women — Jill Farina, Suzi Bales and Holli Surges. "When I first met the owners I started doing a bit of research into the high end resale boutiques and found them to be very successful," Pierce said in an April interview. Trading Closets, a women and men's resale shop, will set up in the old Caesar's Pet location in Downtown Greendale. Village Center Manager Anne Marie Pierce of Grandhaven LLC. believes that the shop is a great fit that will bring a retail component that the Village Center does not have.
