Will Wisconsin Ever Have a Vote on Legalizing Marijuana?

Two states now permit recreational use, following referendums in Tuesday's election.

Wisconsin voters had little to consider on Tuesday outside of state and national races for office, but in many other states citizens were asked to consider marijuana-related ballot measures. Colorado and Washington approved recreational marijuana use, becoming the first states to do so. Oregon defeated a similar measure. Massachusetts, meanwhile, became the 18th state to approve the use of marijuana for medicinal purposes. Arkansas voters said no thanks, while Montana voters supported a measure placing strong restrictions on an earlier medicinal marijuana law. I personally believe that if you are allowed to drink alcohol in your own home, you should be able to use marijuana. I also think that marijuana could help people with medical issues, and it could help our economy.   more ›

Mitt Romney Wins Over Greendale

Mitt Romney took 67% of the vote in Greendale with 38% voter turnout in the village.

Mitt Romney defeated Rick Santorum in the Wisconsin Presidential Primary Tuesday as well as in Greendale. In Greendale Romney had  67% of the vote while Rick Santorum only had 27% of the vote, according to the unofficial results from the Village of Greendale Clerk-Treasurer's office.  There was a 38% voter turnout in Greendale. Clerk-Treasurer Kathy Kasza said that there were 55 absentee and one military ballot still outstanding. There will be a Municipal Board of Canvas on Monday, April 9 at 9 a.m. to process any absentee ballots received by 4 p.m. on April 6.  Most of today's Greendale voters leaned in favor of a referendum that asked if the number of Milwaukee County supervisors should be reduced from 18 to nine and make the position …
