Who Has Open Enrollment Seats in Nearby Districts?

Find information on open enrolling your child in the following districts: Greenfield, Oak Creek, Whitnall, Franklin and Greendale.

Looking to open enroll your child in a school district other than the one in which you live for the 2013-14 school year? Area school districts have openings in a number of grade levels from the elementary level to the high school level. Some districts have more available seats than others.  Whitnall School Board approved 80 new Open Enrollment seats for the 2013-14 school year Monday. A bulk of those seats will be available for incoming ninth-graders (20 new seats) and incoming sixth-graders (30). Neighboring district, Greenfield, approved 51 seats. There will be 10 available seats for both junior kindergarten and ninth grade, no more than five at any other grade level and none in neither the eighth or 12th grades. The Greendale School …

Want To Send Your Child To A Greendale School?

While there is limited space available for new students, the Greendale School District will be accepting open enrollment applications. Here's what you need to know.

The Greendale School District has limited openings for new students wanting to attend Greendale Schools. Their board approved 13 seats in the 6th grade and three seats in the 7th grade at their meeting last week. Parents of children at those grade levels living outside of the Greendale School District can send their child to a Greendale School, but they will need to apply through the open enrollment program. The district will accept students only if there is available space in each grade level, and parents will need to provide transportation to and from the school. The Department of Public Instruction has online applications for open enrollment, which will be accepted from Feb. 4 through April 30. The district also has a computer available…

Greendale's New Open Enrollment Seats Approved For 2013-14

New seats will be added in sixth and seventh grades, and possibly ninth grade. The total number of students enrolling through the state program, however, is projected to decrease.

The Greendale School Board has approved adding students through the state's Open Enrollment program for the 2013-14 school year. The board approved 13 new seats at the sixth-grade level, three new seats at seventh grade and left open the possibility of additional seats at ninth grade. Administrators recommended 14 new seats at ninth grade, but the board opted to wait for a more clear picture of enrollment to ensure the high school isn't overcrowded. Open Enrollment discussions have typically centered on class sizes at the elementary and middle schools, but it's also important to watch the high school, board member Anne Szcygiel said. "With all the changing demographics we have in the district, we should also be concerned about the numbers …

Greendale School Board Approves Three Open Enrollment Seats

The district expects to decrease open enrollment for the 2012-13 school year.

The Greendale School Board approved three open enrollment seats in the high school level through the Chapter 220 program. The Greendale School Board approved two seats in the 9th grade and one seat in 10th grade at a Feb. 6 work session meeting through the Chapter 220 program with Milwaukee Public Schools. The board based this approval on projections for the 2012-13 school years. The program allows the district to open up more seats later, but not decrease the approved amount. Waiting lists will be developed at each grade level and will be offered as they become available through the third Thursday in September. The program transfers aid at $6,948 per student to Greendale School District. In comparison, the school district receives $4,306 …

Greendale School Board Hears Open Enrollment Update and More

Administrators tell board members to start looking at open enrollment numbers for next year and to again consider moving district offices out of Highland View School.

The state-wide public school open enrollment period begins in less than a month and Greendale School officials are preparing to decide on how many seats to make available. District administrators presented an update on K-8 open enrollment and Chapter 220 Enrollment for the 2012-13 school year to the school board at its January 16 meeting. Administrators said that board members will need to take action in the next month to decide how many open enrollment seats to offer for next year. The open enrollment period is from February 6 to 24. Applications are submitted online through the Department of Public Instruction. The District Office will also have a computer available in the lobby for any parent who wants to apply there. Applications are …
