Southridge Macy's Grand Opening on Wednesday had a number of activities throughout the day. One of them included a fashion presentation. The presentation was hosted by Macy's own John Bourgeois who presented the season's hottest fashion and gave some tips of her own.

Hundreds of people came out for the ribbon cutting ceremony and their chance to win a $500 gift card available to three lucky people among the store's first 500 customers .
A line of customers circled the new Southridge Macy’s on Wednesday morning in anticipation of the Grand Opening ribbon cutting ceremony. Macy’s celebrated its grand opening by giving the first 500 customers a $10 gift. Three of those customers were surprised with $500 gift cards. Kathy McNally of Greenfield was one of the lucky customers to win a $500 gift card. "I usually shop out at Mayfair but now that we have one at Southridge, it’s closer to home," McNally said. Southridge Macy's Charity Shopping Day last Saturday raised more than $15,000 for about 40 Milwaukee-area Charities. Organizations sold $5 shopping passes and were able to keep all the proceeds. Customers flocked to the newly constructed Macy's.
Southridge Macy's had a successful first day opening and helped out some Milwaukee area organizations. Organizations, including St. Alphonsus and the Greendale Business Chamber of Commerce, were selling $5 coupon books at entrances to customers. In celebration of their opening at Southridge Mall, Macy’s will host a day of charitable shopping benefiting the Milwaukee area and the Greendale Community with their Charity Shopping Day on Saturday, March 10. This one day shopping event, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., is designed to support more than 40 local non-profit organizations to raise vital funds for their ongoing programs. Tickets will be available to purchase at the store the day of the event. Organizations that sell $5 “shopping pass tickets” to supporters, keep the entire proceeds, including some local Greendale organizations. Exciting activities going on throughout the day.
With the grand opening of Macy's in Southridge Mall two weeks away, crews are working hard to put the finishing touches on the store occupying the former Yonkers location, reports the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. The grand opening ribbon cutting will be at the South Entrance at 8:45am. Greendale Village President John R. Hermes, store Manager Jennifer Duffy, other dignitaries, and Greendale's marching band will be there to celebrate Macy's Southridge, according to the Macy's website. The Board of Trustees is set to discuss a proposed Panda Express at the former Leath Furniture site.
The Greendale Board of Trustees will be discussing a proposed Panda Express to be built at the old Leath Furniture building on 76th Street at Tuesday night's meeting. As reported earlier by Patch, the Greendale Board of Trustees approved allowing Sears to split off the property that Leath Furniture previously occupied from the main Southridge Mall site. The village hoped that might make the propertymore attractive to buyers. While the Panda Express proposal will be on the agenda, it is likely the board will refer the matter to the planning commission. Another store plans renovation.
Rue 21 in Southridge Mall is in a temporary location while it renovates its old location. The clothing retail store temporarily moved to the old Gap location on the second level until it renovates a new storefront. Rue 21's future renovation is one of many other stores that have been renovated in preparation for the completion of the mall's $52 million renovation.

Macy’s in Southridge Mall will be opening March 14. The department store is hiring 160 people for sales positions in cosmetics, women’s shoes and general selling and support positions in merchandising and receiving. It will be constructed into a 150,000 square feet store and include a full range of apparel and accessories for women, men and children as well as housewares, home textiles and luggage. Macy's first made its announcement to open in Southridge in May 2011. The new Macy's is part of a $52 million Southridge Mall renovation. Click here for a list of open positions at the new store.
