Greendale Trustees Show Support for Marching Band

The village board approves a resolution proclaiming Nov. 20, 2012 as Greendale High School Marching Band Day in honor of the band's eighth consecutive state championship.

The Greendale Village Board is pretty proud of the Greendale High School marching band and they want them to know it. The board unanimously approved a resolution Tuesday declaring Nov. 20, 2012 Greendale High School Marching Band Day in the village. The band recently won their eighth consecutive Class AA Division title in the Wisconsin School Music Association’s State Marching Band Championship. At the championship the band also took home awards for best musical presentation, best visual presentation and best colorguard. The band also competed in the Bands of America Grand Nationals competition Nov. 9 in Indianapolis and was one of only two bands from Wisconsin to compete there. Marching Band Competition Heads to Greendale

Looking for something to do on Saturday? Check out the annual Preview of Champions marching band competition at Greendale High School.

The Greendale High School marching band is hosting the annual Preview of Champions competition on Saturday.  With 14 bands—including the GHS band—scheduled to perform, the field is ready for hours of musical and marching precision. Gates open at 4:30 p.m., with the first band stepping off at 5:45 p.m. Greendale is the final band to perform, taking the field at 9 p.m.  Tickets are $7 for adults, $5 for children 12 and under.  Preview of Champions schedule
