National Winner Announced in Patch's Deck the House Contest

Georgia family receives thousands of votes to win Patch's Deck the House contest and $100,000 for their local school district.

In this year's Deck the House contest, the second time was the charm. Joseph Felix's home in Dallas, GA outshined the other 24 finalists to win the 2012 Deck the House contest and $100,000 for the Paulding County, GA school district. After placing second in the nationwide voting in the 2011 contest, the Felix home received nearly 11,000 votes this year to finally win Deck the House. The home, with 100,000 computer animated holiday lights choreographed to Mariah Carey's "All I Want for Christmas is You," received about 300 more votes than a home in Coventry, R.I., which finished in second place. There were two national finalists from Wisconsin in the contest:  Judging by the 80 comments on the Felixes' Deck the House submission, visiting …

Help a Wisconsin School District Win $100,000

Two houses in southeast Wisconsin were chosen as national finalists in Patch's Deck the House contest. Your votes could help win $100,000 for the Whitnall or Racine Unified school districts.

Could one of these be the best “decked” house in the country? Possibly. Congrats go out to these families, whose light displays have been chosen as finalists in our Deck the House contest: We had tons of national entries in this year’s Deck the House contest and in our quest to find the most over-the-top holiday decorations in the country, we’ve seen everything from a life-size Santa to holiday lights so bright they could blind the neighbors. We loved seeing everyone’s holiday spirit, but Deck the House isn’t over yet. We’re still looking for the one home so spectacularly decorated that it could be the national grand prize winner of our contest—and it could be a home from right here in Caledonia.  Until Dec. 28, vote in our contest to help…
