Interior building renovations began in December, months after the Borders bookstore at the same location on 76th Street closed its doors.
Designer Shoe Warehouse, or DSW, is scheduled to open in the former Borders bookstore building, 5250 S. 76th St., on April 18, according to flyers posted on the building. Interior building renovations began in December after the temporary Halloween Express moved out. Flyers also indicate the store is hiring. Those interested are to apply online.

Restaurants, a grocery store, a shoe store and more will all be opening this year in Greendale. Tell us which one excites you most.
Last year there were many exciting announcements coming out of Greendale. Many of those included store openings around the Southridge area and Village Center. Chick-Fil-A, Walmart, Longhorn Steakhouse, Buca di Beppo and Designer Shoe Warehouse (DSW) are all opening on 76th Street this year. An athletics-themed Panther Pub and Eatery will be opening in the Village Center by summer as well. Old Navy, LOFT and Chico's will be opening in Southridge Mall.

The costume store will be a temporary tenant at the old Borders building. DSW will start construction on the building sometime in December.
Even though it's not fall yet people are already thinking about Halloween costumes. Halloween Express will open for the season Aug. 18, as a temporary tenant inside the former Borders building. Designer Shoe Warehouse will begin construction at the site in December, with DSW expected to open in March.

DSW, Designer Shoe Warehouse, will open at the former Borders building on 76th Street in March of 2013. Gary Stein, leasing broker for CBRE, said construction will start in December. Until then Halloween Express is scheduled as a temporary tenant later this year. Borders, the national chain, filed for bankruptcy last summer. Patch will continue to follow this story.
