Southrige Boston Store Celebrates Grand Reopening

Shoppers lined up Wednesday to look at the $8.5 million renovation at Boston Store, including wider aisles, new decorating, more open space, and a completely redesigned women's shoe department.

A long line of customers waited outside of Southridge Boston Store Wednesday to kick off the grand reopening celebrating completion of an $8.5 million renovation. The new store includes wider aisles, brighter decorating, fewer dividing walls, spacious fitting rooms, cushioned chairs for shoppers and new product brands.  The woman’s shoe section is one of the biggest transformations in the store. The department went from 7,800 square feet to over 17,000 square feet and showcases many new styles and brands, including Vince Camuto, Coach, Michael Kors, Steve Madden, and Fergalicious. The festivities included live music and the first 1,000 customers received a complimentary gift. Guests were entered to win prizes including a pair of Packers …

Southridge Boston Store Celebrating Renovations with Grand Re-opening

The celebration will include a ribbon-cutting ceremony, live music, giveaways and a fashion show.

Boston Store will celebrate completion of its renovated store at Southridge Mall with a grand re-opening. The celebration will begin with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 9:45 a.m. Aug. 22. Guest speakers will include Greendale Village President John Hermes and The Bon-Ton Stores Executive Vice President of Stores Steve Byers, who will kick off the festivities. The celebration will continue through Aug. 28. The store renovation began in October 2011 and has been remodeled and redesigned. Boston Store Exterior Will Have a New Look to Match Southridge

The company said they wanted to match the new modern look of the renovated Southridge Mall and the new Macy's.

Southridge's Boston Store exterior will have a new look to match the mall's newly renovated entrances.  The Greendale Village Board approved a design for the exterior renovations of Boston Store on Tuesday.  A Bon-Ton representative said at the meeting that the store wants to get rid of the out-dated exterior to match the mall's new modern look, as well as the look of the new Macy's. Both its north and west entrances will be renovated. The application says the estimated cost for the renovation is $150,000, which would be paid for entirely by BonTon. Planning Commission Approves Southridge Boston Store Exterior Plans

The Village Board will review the store's proposed design for the permit application at their next meeting.

The Greendale Planning Commission approved a design for the exterior renovation of Southridge Boston Store.  The Village Board will review the application that requests a permit to renovate both its north and west entrances at the July 17 meeting. The application says the estimated cost for the renovation is $150,000, which would be paid for entirely by BonTon. Boston Store is undergoing an $8 million interior renovation with the help of a $3 million TIF district from the Village. This also comes during a $52 million renovation of Southridge Mall, also partially funded through a TIF district.  Macy's, known as one of Boston Store's competitors, opened its brand new store in the mall back in March.

The store is currently renovating its interior and plans to renovate its exterior now.

Southridge Boston Store has submitted an application to the Village of Greendale requesting to renovate both its north and west entrances. The Village Board will review the request on July 5. The application says the estimated cost for the renovation is $150,000. Boston Store is undergoing an $8 million interior renovation with the help of a $3 million TIF district from the Village. Renovations are expected to be done soon.  This also comes during a $52 million renovation of Southridge Mall, also funded through a TIF district.

Southridge Mall Renovations Update

Recapping Southridge Mall this year and what's to come.

It’s hard not to notice all the construction going on outside of Southridge Mall. If you’re a mall-goer you probably also noticed the construction inside the mall. In December the Village of Greendale approved a $16 million dollar TIF district to help the $52 million mall renovation. Since then about five stores have renovated, Macys announced it opening, H&M opened its doors and Boston Store also jumped on the renovation bandwagon with the help of a $2 million dollar TIF district. What’s going on now with the mall renovations: What’s next: The addition of Macy’s is slated to be completed by the Spring of 2012 and the complete mall renovation is slated to be completed by late Summer 2012. i love Greendale!!!! however i shop at Mayfair and Brookfield.... i am so sorry.....i want to shop at Southridge but there are no stores for middle age women..... Joint Review Board Reviewing Third TIF District This Week

The TIF district will help the $8.5 million renovation of Boston Store.

The Joint Review Board will review and consider approving the third TIF district in Greendale that will assist Boston Store's effort to remodel the interior of its Southridge Mall location on Wednesday. The panel, made up of representatives from the Greendale's separate taxing bodies, will review the $2 million TIF district to help the store finance its $8.5 million renovation.  The TIF would be constructed with a 15-year payback, said Village Manager Todd Michaels at previous meeting. He also noted that the village sold the bonds with a 3.7 percentage rate the second Southridge Mall TIF. That is one percent less than the village anticipated. New Japanese Restaurant Coming to Southridge Food Court

Sarku Japan is expected to be serving by this Fall.

New restaurant is coming to the Southridge food court. Sarku Japan has over 200 restaurants in 37 states. The restaurant is expected to start serving by this Fall. The renovation of the food court is part of a bigger $52 million dollar renovation of the mall. What else is new in Southridge Mall in Greendale? Also opening its doors in the mall is H&M and Macy's. Other stores that have renovated are Lane Bryant, Kay Jewelers, Kohls, Vanity and Wet Seal. Boston Store plans to do a $8.5 million renovation by Spring.

Joint Review Board Considering Plan to Renovate Boston Store At Southridge

The $2 million tax incremental finance district will be reviewed in September for consideration of approval.

The Joint Review Board will meet on September 21 to rieview and consider approving the third TIF district that will help the $8.5 million renovation of Boston Store. Board members include representatives from Village of Greendale, Greendale School District, Milwaukee County, Milwaukee Area Technical College and a citizen representative.
