Greendale is finding many ways to celebrate its 75th anniversary, and the May Brewers game and tailgate is the latest option. Tickets for both are available now through early April.
UPDATE: Organizers have extended the date for ticket sales for this event, but have not given a new deadline. We'll post it as soon as we get the information. Original story:Celebrate Greendale's 75th anniversary while you cheer for the Milwaukee Brewers on May 5. The tailgate party starts at 10:30 a.m. at Greendale High School (rain or shine), and school bus transportation will be provided to Miller Park. The game—between the Brewers and St. Louis Cardinals—begins at 1:10 p.m. Tailgate tickets are $5 each, and may be purchased at the Greendale Park and Recreation Department in the Greendale Public Library through April 26. Week #35: The picture of the parishioners outside the Tri City State Bank building is an iconic symbol of St. Stephen the Martyr Lutheran Church, Greendale’s youngest church.

St. Stephen The Martyr Lutheran Church – 6101 S. 51st St., Greendale WI 53129 When I first visited St. Stephen the Martyr Lutheran Church to work on this story, I saw this large picture of the congregation outside the Tri City State Bank building. My immediate reaction was that this was an iconic picture. As I learned more about the church’s beginnings and its history, my fascination with the picture increased. Greendale's 75th Anniversary Committee has been working hard putting together the diamond celebration.
Greendale's 75th Anniversary celebrations don't start till August 2013 but this does not mean the committee has not been working hard to plan out the events. The diamond celebration will include a five day extravaganza that includes hot air balloon rides, retro 40's cars and costumes, Badger Band, laser light show, alumni reunion, parade, fireworks and more.
