I went here with my family the Sat. before Mother's Day. It was very crowded at 4:00pm. Everyone…Read More must be trying the new place! We had 7 people and while waiting they served an onion appetizer in a little cup with sauce. I thought that was a nice touch. Food was very good: I had the flat-iron steak for $12.99 and it was delicious and sides were good choices. I had a huge sweet potato with cinnamon and sugar on it. It was bigger than the steak!!! Warm bread was also welcomed. Everyone at the table loved their food. We also shared a dessert combo plate with three kinds on it. We could hardly eat but a little each. We were stuffed. Try it soon.

I don't profess to be an expert, but it would appear that the parcels of land are too small. Most…Read More light manufacturers need more space than the lots allow. As a result, there are some odd-ball tenants (fitness, low-rent office space for solo attorneys) that simply fill the space. I would be very interested in hearing from some folks in commercial real estate, such as Mr. Anderson, as to the best options for this area. By the way, the Village needs to do something about that absolute eye-sore dump next to Walgreens.

Improving our industrial park is an important issue and thank to The Patch for posing the question.…Read More I do think some context would be helpful. It would be great if the Patch could actually dig into this issue take the time to interview business owners in the park, Village and elected officials and redevelopment experts. I'd like to hear the opinions of those on the ground and have The Patch share them with the community. For many, the issue of the park is likely off the radar.

Our village needs a vibrant and robust industrial park. Perhaps our village and school leaders will…Read More work to improve the neighborhood of commerce. Why couldn't the new high school charter school be put there? What about extra classrooms or the new ideas coming ike the freshman program being placed in an empty commerce building?

I miss the Hostess outlet. I've made a stop here at Aunt Millie's and I wasn't impressed. One…Read More employee was smoking outside the front entrance, another was talking so loudly across the store to another employee I felt as though I was intruding in on a conversation. Most items were expiring within the next day or two, with a lot of items already expired. When Hostess had items that close to the "use by date" prices were slashed. I didn't find that to be the case at Aunt Millie's. I tried it, I didn't like it and I won't go back. You'll have to decide for yourself if its worth going in on a regular basis.

A "decent" green market!!?? Our Park & Rec. Director does a great job providing our…Read More village with the Open Market we enjoy every other Saturday. Have you ever tried to book vendors willing and able to show up @ 6 am to set up their booths on a semi-weekly basis? Vendors of fresh produce/products are spread pretty thin these days, with so many other communities now involved in setting up their own green markets, and they are usually held on the same day and at the same time. Last time I checked, there were only so many days/hours in a weekend.

We all should try to patronize smaller cell companies. Shop around.

So Sab--- Please... rethink what you wrote... they are not literally…Read More putting Helium in this joint(forehead smack) Although you are right... helium shortages have been going on for awhile Thats why you don't get balloons and TGIFridays anymore. Those complaining about broken bones and lawsuits... That is why you sign a liability waiver. Broken bones happen. If you shelter your children we will have a bunch of weiners runnning around. Toughen up. Have some fun. Don't be so negative. I understand everyone has a right to an opinion but sometimes I listen to other's opinions and think... what a bunch of jack wagons. I am going to this place today and if I get hurt I will know it was probably my fault or because I put myself in that position. I have been to the tramp park in Illinois and it was a blast. For the guy that said trampolines were gay... watch the video I have attached. If you think its gay well you are probably underactive and uncoordinated. Everyone... throw caution to the wind... but keep common sense... take a risk.. but still use your brain.

So proud of Greendale on this great day! Happy birthday to our Village. It was great to see so many…Read More friends and neighbors this afternoon at the award presentation.
However, it was strange that no school leadership was among the invited dignitary delegation -- they had everyone else. I'm guessing things are not so cozy between the schools and our Village.
I didn't see any chickens. But, I did see Tharp complete with his usual stand-offish attitude standing in the far back of the crowd.
It was just a great day for our Village. The cake was great. John Hermes did a wonderful job as did the Greendale Historical Society. Thank you!

Greendalers had a proud day. The real leadership of our fair village were there. Our school…Read More district had opportunities to be a part of this and choose not to.
We must keep our eyes forward and remember our :Official Seal of the Village of Greendale which was designed by Marshall Bartos. The gear in the seal represents the industrial worker; the grain sheaf represents the agricultural worker; the book represents cultural life; and the United States eagle represents "under government guidance.
Our Greendale School District will sort itself out eventually.
