Greendale-Franklin Football Game to Serve as Kayla's Krew Fundraiser

There is still time to purchase a special t-shirt or sweatshirt, or sign up to participate in the tailgate party.

The second week of the high school football season will not only feature a showdown of two of the premier programs in southeastern Wisconsin.

It will also provide an opportunity for neighboring Franklin and Greendale to come together for a great cause.

The game will serve as a huge fundraiser for Kayla’s Krew, a non-profit organization aimed at building an all-inclusive, all-accessible playground in Franklin, much like the Possibility Playground in Port Washington.

The playground would serve all children, including those with special needs.

Before the nonconference game Aug. 30, which begins at 7 p.m. at Gavinski Field at Greendale High School, there will be a tailgate party from 5-6:30 p.m. For a $5 donation, you receive a brat or hot dog, a beverage and a cookie.

In addition, those attending the game are asked to help create a “Blackout” by wearing a specially designed t-shirt that can be purchased online through 5 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 21.
