Greendale Environmental Group Needs Volunteers for Annual Weed Out

Help the group eradicate pesty plants and weeds in Greendale.

The Greendale Environmental Group is looking for volunteers to for the Annual Spring Weed Out.

About 32 percent of Greendale's land is greenspace and the major weed problems are with garlic mustard and buckthorn, according the group.

Last Saturday the group and volunteers were at Edgerton Park. This weekend on May 7 they will be Daffodil Park and Dale Creek.

Below is a list of garlic mustard removal sites that run from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.:

  • May 7: Daffodil Park and Dale Creek (Park on the South end of the village center parking lot)
  • May 14: Sherwood Park (South West of Westway, West of Sherwood Road. Park at Our Shepherds of Lutheran Church)
  • May 21: Eastway Woodlands ( on Eastway between 51st Street and Sugarbush Court)
