Village Days Alcohol Boundaries Expanded

The Village of Greendale has changed its rules and will allow alcohol outside of the previous gated area. Also, take a look into the celebration's schedule.

Greendale Village Days will bring have a new rule this year.

Alcoholic drinks at Village Days will be allowed to be carried out of the former gated area this year. In previous years drinks were not allowed outside of the gated area. This year alcoholic drinks will be allowed at Northway on the North, Crocus Court on the South, the Hose Tower woods on the West and Daffodil Park on the East.

Village Days is scheduled from August 10 to August 12 this year.

Volunteers from the Greendale Lions Club and Greendale Entertainment Association will be checking identification and issuing wristbands. Signage will be added stating intoxicants will not be allowed to be carried in certain areas and violation could result in arrest and a citation.

The wristband concept was first approved by the Village Board for the special event approval of Luther Fest, which is set to take place on July 21, 2012.

Greendale Entertainment Area:

The entertainment area will include 12 fundraising booths, an entertainment stage and food vendors. The food vendors are Klasiana’s and the Little Red Popcorn Wagon. The Family Entertainment Area will be smoke and alcohol free. There will be a Music on the Move interactive fun zone, including inflatable games, rock climbing and other games. Dr. Seuss' The Lorax will be played during Family Movie Night on Saturday August 11th from 8:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. at no charge.

Sunday August 12th, 11:00 A.M. – 5:00 P.M.

Corn Roast and Stand

The American Legion Corn Stand will be located at Broad Street and Schoolway (). Similar to other years, they will be selling chicken dinners, corn, hot dogs, baked potatoes, root beer floats, ice cream sundaes, nachos, soda and bottled water.

Sunday August 12th, 11:00 A.M. – 6:00 P.M.

Lions Club Food and Beer Garden

The Lions Club will have live entertainment, food and beer sales at Gazebo Park.

Saturday August 11th, 8:00 A.M. – 10:30 P.M.; Coffee and Doughnuts 8:00 A.M. – 10:00 A.M.; Food and Beverages 10:00 A.M. – 10:30 P.M.

Annual Rummage sale:

To be held on Saturday August 11th from 8:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. adjacent to the Greendale Lions Food and Beer Garden on Broad Street.

Greendale Friends of the Library Book Sale

The sale will be held on Saturday August 11th in the lower level of the . The Book Sale is open to the public free of charge from 9:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M. The public can pay an early entrance fee of $5 to enter between 8:00 A.M. to 9:00 A.M.

Greendale 75th Anniversary Art Auction

The art auction for the will take place Sunday August 12th in front of the (in case of inclement weather the auction will be relocated to the Greendale Entertainment Association tent).
