State Fair Kicks Off Thursday

The Wisconsin State Fair begins Thursday, starting 11 days of activities at State Fair Park. Some new things are in store—including new youth admission policies—and old favorites continue to draw fairgoers.

From trying the newest food on a stick to the rides or visiting animals, everyone who goes to the Wisconsin State Fair seems to have their favorites. 

Last year's fair got extra attention for racially-charged violence, and this year organizers are taking steps to prepare for crowds that get out of hand. They should move the State fair a county or two north into a more rural setting. Maybe the gang bangers wouldn't be willing to drive that far. Perhaps something with a big pond in the center where people can drive bumper boats in.
