As St. Alphonsus Parish in Greendale marks its 75th anniversary this year, St. Alphonsus School, 6000 W. Loomis Road, Greendale, will host an open house with school tours for incoming students and new families from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Jan. 26 and from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday Jan. 27.

Registration for the 2013-2014 school year begins in February. Everyone is welcome at the open house. If you’d like a personal tour at another time, please call (414) 421-1760 to schedule.

St. Alphonsus has seen a growth in enrollment in the past few years, particularly in the 3K and 4K programs. Housed in a newly renovated area devoted to the lower house, the 3-year-old kindergarten offers developmentally appropriate structured activities half-days in a two-day or three-day format.

The newly expanded 4-year-old kindergarten, featuring three teachers and two aides, is available as either half-day or full-day programs. The program includes math, reading, art, music and computer/technology instruction plus field trips. Each year, the 4K classes also put together a gallery-style art show to raise money for the Ronald McDonald House charities.

Starting with the 5-year-old kindergarten, Spanish instruction is also available in all grades. Expanding on technology programs, St. Alphonsus also uses the STEM program – Gateway to Technology. After school care is available.

Nearly 450 students attend the school, which draws a diverse group of families from Greendale, Greenfield, Franklin, Oak Creek, Muskego, Hales Corners, Milwaukee, Sturtevant and Caledonia.
