Panthers Homecoming Foe is Second-Place New Berlin West

Barring some unforeseen circumstances, it is becoming less and less likely that the Greendale Panthers football team will suffer a blemish on its win-loss record during the regular season.

After already dispensing of standout opponents such as Franklin and Pewaukee through the first four weeks of the season, the Panthers pitched their first shutout of the season in Week 5, downing New Berlin Eisenhower, 42-0, to improve to 5-0 overall.

Up next for the last remaining unbeaten team in the Woodland Conference West is New Berlin West, at 7 p.m. at Gavinski Field, the Panthers’ homecoming game.

The Vikings (2-3 overall, 2-1 conference) are tied with Pewaukee for second place in the division, thanks in large part to the rushing efforts of Bryan Watson, who has 624 yards and seven touchdowns.
