Greendale's Zach Henderson Earns All-State Baseball Honor

The right-handed slugger was named to the Wisconsin Baseball Coaches Association all-state first team, becoming the first Panther on the team in 32 years.

Zach Henderson did a little bit of everything during his junior season with the Greendale Panthers.

He batted .402 with 45 RBI and 29 runs scored. He clobbered 16 extra-base hits, including five home runs. And on the mound, he went 4-4 with an impressive 59 strikeouts in just 36 2/3 innings pitched with a 2.67 ERA.

For his efforts, Henderson earned a spot on the Wisconsin Baseball Coaches Association's all-state first team as an outfielder.

According to the Greendale School District website, Henderson, a first-team all-Woodland Conference West Division choice as well, is the first Panther named to the team in 32 years.

The Woodland Conference was well-represented by the WBCA with 11 total selections to the first or second all-state teams or as honorable mentions. Henderson joined player of the year Austin Jones of Wauwatosa West, coach of the year Tom Farina of New Berlin West and assistant coach of the year Jack Ward of Wauwatosa West, among others.
