Greendale Football Season Ends with Playoff Loss

QB Ringelberg's 175 yards of total offense not enough to prevent the Panthers from falling to Brookfield East in second round playoff game.

Brookfield East's Zach Schober scored three touchdowns and rushed for 166 yards Friday night to propel the Spartans to a 28-21 win over Greendale in a second round game in the WIAA Division 2 football playoffs

According to WisSports.net:

Schober scored his first TD on a 1-yard run with 6:59 left in the first quarter to give the Spartans a 7-0 lead. Greendale answered with a 26-yard touchdown pass from Josh Ringelberg to Cody Kmetz with one minute left in the quarter. East retook the lead with a 37-yard touchdown run by Schober with 11 seconds left in the quarter.

After a scoreless second half, Schober scored again, this time on a 6-yard run, with 4:58 in left in the third quarter, to give East a 21-7 lead. Greendale cut the lead to 21-14 in front of the home crowd with less than a minute left in the third on a 2-yard touchdown run by Ringelberg.

East regained its 14-point lead on James' 67-yard touchdown run. Greendale put the final points on the board with a 7-yard TD pass from Ringelberg to Mitchell Brees with 4:43 left in the game.

East quarterback Zach Damico completed 10 out of 20 passes thrown, for 72 yards passing. He also rushed 17 times for 53 yards, according to WisSports.net.

The Panthers' Ringelberg also was 10-for-20, and had 98 passing yards. He also rushed for 77 yards.

Greendale's Jake Zywicki was the leading rusher for both teams — 15 carries for 80 yards. Kmetz led all receivers with 66 yards.

Greendale, which was seeded fifth in its bracked, finishes the season with a 6-4 record.

Top-seeded Brookfield East improves its record to 10-0.

We can look up to see who signed a recall of their elected official because of grievances, but weRead More cannot look up who donated large wads of ca$h to the same official's campaign...Thank you GOP for turning that window of open accountability into a one-way mirror with the GOP looking out and everyone else stuck looking inward, wandering why we don't get the same vantage point. A bit hypocritical don't you think? And BTW, your GOP budget just ticked off every principal, superintendent and public school family in the state of WI today. Good luck on that second term of negative growth (-0.74).

Jason- See the IRS for list of donors to pro republican groups. They were illegally collected andRead More distributed. You signed the recall, no one made you do it. Deal with it already and stop changing the subject to interject some off the wall non comparison. ~in solidarity

I think Scott Walker's record speaks for itself in terms of state job growth and misplacedRead More priorities. "Blue fisters" didn't create Scott Walker, he's been a creature of ALEC since the early 1990s. Let's see if he decides to do a Bachmann in 2014. A lot of people who didn't vote in the recall election because they didn't understand/agree may not have voted for him in 2010. Anyone who has a 20-something college grad who can't find a job, male spouse, family member or friend in their 50s who can't find a job, was cut from needed health care benefits, etc., is bound to be looking for better leadership.
