Brinkman Baseball Field Upgrades on the Horizon

The Greendale School District's proposal to relocate and upgrade the field got a favorable recommendation by the village's Planning Commission on June 12.

Plans to renovate Brinkman baseball field at Greendale High School are racing around third and heading for home.

The Greendale School District’s proposal to relocate and upgrade the field got a favorable recommendation by the village’s Planning Commission on Wednesday and will come before the Village Board on Tuesday.

Village Manager Todd Michaels told Patch he did not anticipate the plans hitting any snags.

School district spokesperson Kitty Goyette said the district is waiting for final approval from the village before it sets a project timeline.

The high school baseball teams are not using the current field at all this season. All games are played on the road and the team’s practice at the community center.

Upgrades at Brinkman Field are expected to be completed in time for the 2014 season and include a turf infield and natural grass outfield, a new outfield fence, and an orientation in the east-to-northeastern direction.

On Wednesday, the village’s Planning Commission also suggested the school district’s plans to construct a storage building at the high school be approved by the Village Board next week.
