Who Has Open Enrollment Seats in Nearby Districts?

Find information on open enrolling your child in the following districts: Greenfield, Oak Creek, Whitnall, Franklin and Greendale.

Looking to open enroll your child in a school district other than the one in which you live for the 2013-14 school year?

Area school districts have openings in a number of grade levels from the elementary level to the high school level. Some districts have more available seats than others. 

Whitnall School Board approved 80 new Open Enrollment seats for the 2013-14 school year Monday. A bulk of those seats will be available for incoming ninth-graders (20 new seats) and incoming sixth-graders (30).

Neighboring district, Greenfield, approved 51 seats. There will be 10 available seats for both junior kindergarten and ninth grade, no more than five at any other grade level and none in neither the eighth or 12th grades.

The Greendale School District approved 13 new seats at the sixth-grade level, three new seats at seventh grade and left open the possibility of additional seats at ninth grade.

Oak Creek-Franklin Joint School District approved 23 seats. Due to the resident population in the school district and limited available space, only 5% of the students in the Oak Creek-Franklin District are non-resident.

The Franklin School Board approved 54 seats.

Oak Creek-Franklin School District
  • 10 seats at 4K
  • 6 seats at 5K
  • 7 seats at 1st grade
  • 9 seats at the 6th grade
Franklin School District
  • 20 seats in Kindergarten
  • 2 seats in 3rd grade
  • 10 seats in 4th grade
  • 8 seats in 9th grade
  • 4 seats in 10th grade
  • 4 seats in 11th grade
  • 6 seats in 12th grade

Open Enrollment Information

Open enrollment applications for 2013-14 will be taken Feb. 4 through April 30 in all school districts in Wisconsin.

Parents may apply in one of two ways:

  • Online (recommended) at http://dpi.wi.gov/sms/psctoc.html. Although an online application is recommended, paper applications may be obtained from the Department of Public Instruction or any school district.
  • Paper applications must be delivered to the nonresident school district.
