Twice As Many Public School Teachers Retired This Year

Retirements came in wake of the budget repair bill.

Twice as many public school teachers have retired this year than in past years, according to an AP article in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

Many teachers chose retirement in the wake of Gov. Scott Walker's new law that forces them to pay more for benefits while taking away most of their collective bargaining rights.

Each year on average, the has about five to ten retirements, but this year there were 19.
