William Hughes will be part of a group that provides counsel, support and helps foster the achievement of equity, diversity and excellence in all aspects to the School of Education.

The Greendale School District Superintendent of Schools William Hughes will serve on the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee School of Education’s Board of Visitors in recognition of his hard work and dedication to the youth in the greater Milwaukee community.

“I met with the Board for the first time last week,” said Hughes.  “We discussed the current economic health in the community and what teacher and school district administration preparation is going to look like in the future and under the new Dean, Carol Colbeck.”

The UWM School of Education’s Board of Visitors is an external advisory body to the Dean of the School.  The group’s purpose is to provide counsel, support and to foster the achievement of equity, diversity and excellence in all aspects of the School of Education.  Comprised of 21 members, the Board provides input on how programmatic changes impact the larger community, such as teacher education programs and their impact on the workforce.
