School Board Candidate Launches a Website

Amy Ali and incumbent Jim Schutte are running for school board on April 5.

Amy Ali and Jim Schutte will face each for school board on April 5 elections.

Schutte has been part of facilities planning, budget, superintendent's advisory and friends of music committees, according to his biography on the Greendale School District website.

He was originally appointed to the School Board in April 2005.

On Ali's website she says she has lived in Greendale for ten years. In her 'About' section Alis says, "I feel that it really does take a village to raise and teach a child, and in this community we have this philosophy. I want to see our children continue to grow and strive to become contributing citizens of our community and nation. I also feel we need to continue to improve our level of education and the quality of education with the financial resources that are available to us in these economically hard times.

"I have been and continue to be a volunteer in the Greendale school district over the past ten years. My experience includes participating on the Food Committee, the GEM Committee and also the Citizens Budget Committee."

Ali also states on her site that she has worked for a U.S. Senator and served as Advanced Staff for the White House.

The two candidates are scheduled for a forum on March 23 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the courthouse of the Greendale Safety Center. The event is organized by The Greendale Chamber of Commerce and the League of Women Voters of Milwaukee County.
