The class of over 200 graduates received a combined $2.72 million in scholarships, setting a new school record.

Greendale High School sent off a record-setting Class of 2013 at Sunday's graduation ceremony.

The 212 graduates earned a collective $2.72 million in college scholarships, GHS Principal Steven Lodes said. According to Lodes, that is the highest since 2006 when they began tracking the figure.

The ceremony included remarks from Lodes, Superintendent John Tharp and the four co-valedictorians: Miranda Joslin, Bradley Julga, Sarah Kahl and Austin Lasch. The Class of 2013 included 41 members of the National Honor Society.

GHS also showcased its musical talents during the ceremony with a rousing performance of "Hold On" by the concert choir, along with an additional senior music performance of "One Song." The latter included vocalist Mikaela Schneider backed by a string arrangement.
