Longest School Board Meeting of the Year

Monday, March 21, marked the longest school board meeting of the year.

Last night the meeting room in the school district offices at Highland View Elementary were full of about 25 people, if not more, plus board members and administrators.

Some people were standing outside the door. A table had to be removed to make room for more seating. This was an indication of how long the night was going to be.

The meeting started promptly at 7 p.m. but ended close to 10:30 p.m. Student board member Carrie Staats even joked that it was past her bedtime once it was her turn to present her report at the end of the night.
