Kuzmanovic, who was appointed last year to fill a vacancy, praised all the candidates in the race, saying "any one of them ... would have been terrific."

She felt voters liked her skill set and experience, specifically her years volunteering in the schools and working with kids.

"I'm very humbled being chosen out of this group of quality" candidates, she said.

Slota, who could not be immediately reached Tuesday night, will continue to serve on the school board as he has for more than a quarter century. In a candidate forum last week, he touted the district's success during that time, saying "You have somebody who's doing a great job, you keep them there."

McCormick has been on the board since 1998 and is a 26-year resident of the district. She's also been in leadership positions on the Wisconsin Association of School Boards and CESA No. 1 Board of Control. She could not be immediately reached Tuesday.

Mevis, Dalkin and Wied-Vincent were all vying to inject new blood into the school board.

Mevis and Wied-Vincent are both Greendale High School graduates. Wied-Vincent, a former teacher, recently moved back to Greendale from Brookfield. She's active in the Greendale Against Bullying group among several community organizations.

Mevis is a salesperson who has served on the district budget committee and Canterbury Elementary School PTO president.

Dalkin touted his 30 years experience in the nonprofit sector. He was chief exectuive of the United States Bowling Congress and former executive director of the American Bowling Congress.
