Greendale Teacher Needs Votes to Win B93.3 Grand Prize

Karen Weber needs votes to win Teacher of the Year.

Radio station B93.3 is holding a Teacher of the Year contest and Greendale's Karen Weber of is in the running to win the grand prize.

The prize package includes a roundtrip airfare for two from Air Tran Airways, pair of tickets to Josh Groban at the Bradley Center, dinner for two at Jack Pandl's Whitefish Bay Inn, $50 VISA gift card from Educator's Credit union, another $50 VISA giftcard from Mt. Mary College, and a personalized Teacher of the Year Plaque.

The teacher with the most votes wins. People can vote as many times as they like.

There are six other nominees. Other teachers nominated are from Edgewood Elementary School in Oak Creek, Nicolet High School in Glendale, St. Matthias Parish School in Milwaukee, Asa Clark Middle School in Pewaukee, Waukesha South High School, and Whitman Middle School in Wauwatosa.

Weber received her degree in education less than five years ago at the age of 50 but has been working in education since she was 18. She joined the in 2007 and teaches first grade.

Outside the clasroom Weber has organized Literacy Night for students and families and coordinated Author Night at a local bookstore for first and second graders. There's a long list of other activities she has participated in.

Click here to vote. Voting ends at 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday, May 18. Winners will be announced on-air on May 20. All the teachers that were nominated were at one point a B93.3 Teacher of the Month.
