Greendale Student-Driven Concert Will Benefit Sophia's Heart This Friday

The charity aims to improve the lives of children.

Greendale School District students will hold their third annual Benefit Concert on Feb. 10. Proceeds of the student-driven event benefit Sophia’s Heart – a charity that aims to improve the lives of children.

When a devastating earthquake hit Haiti in 2010, killing thousands, people from all over reached out to those in need, including Greendale students. The benefit concert tradition stemmed from a group of students who felt compelled to help the cause. Each year, students from almost every grade level meet, hold auditions, organize a concert at the high school and donate the profits to a charity.  In the last two years, they’ve raised over $2,200.

The completely student-run Benefit Concert will be held on Friday, February 10 at 7:00 p.m. in the Auditorium, 6801 Southway. There will be performances by musicians from the Greendale Schools, as well as the local community. Admission to the concert is $2.00 at the door, but additional donations are appreciated.
