Greendale Schools Receives $1,500 Scholarship for Students

The scholarship will be awarded to students pursuing careers in science, technology, engineering and math.

Trane in La Crosse recently presented the Greendale School District with a $1,500 scholarship to be awarded to students pursuing careers in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). 

Greendale Schools was selected based on its participation in the Energy Star School Challenge, which is a demonstration of energy conservation and efficiency efforts and potential impact of the award.

Greendale Schools has established a green culture focused on environmental sustainability. The district has installed solar water heating, new heating plants and digital controls, implemented operational changes, formed a green team of students, staff and community members, began two school gardens to grow produce and use f Earlier this year,

“We are very proud of what we have accomplished in terms of energy conservation,” said Brian Koffarnus, Greendale Schools Director of Food Service and Buildings and Grounds.  “We have been able to provide Greendale students with a healthier environment to learn and now, a STEM scholarship.”
