Greendale School Board Selects Superintendent Search Firm

Hazard, Young, Attea and Associates (HYA) will assist with the District's search for the next Superintendent after Dr. William Hughes announced his resignation.

The Greendale School Board has selected the firm Hazard, Young, Attea and Associates (HYA) to assist with the District's search for the next Superintendent.

After 16 years as superintendent of the , Dr. William Hughes announced his resignation effective July 1, 2012.

“Selecting our next superintendent is the most important decision this Board will make,” said School Board President Joe Crapitto in a press release. “This firm is highly regarded and this selection is the first step in the process of finding Greendale’s next superintendent.”

The search will include an assessment of the district's needs and collection of input from stakeholders regarding the desired characteristics of the next superintendent.  This information will lead to the development of a leadership profile and selection criteria, according to the release. In addition to recruiting and identifying candidates, HYA will assist the board with interviews and will facilitate board discussions regarding candidates.

“HYA was selected in part because of their experience with very engaged communities that share Greendale’s high standards and achievement levels,” Crapitto added. “The Board of Education is committed to engaging the community, staff and families during this process and the work of finding our next Superintendent is underway.”
