Greendale High School Names New Associate Principals

Former associate principal resigns to take job at Bay View High School.

will have two new associate principals when school starts on September 1.  

According to a press release, the Greendale School District has hired Nathan Joynt and promoted Katie Petersen as associate principals at the high school.

Joynt has worked in the Whitefish Bay School District since 2005 as a fifth grade teacher and has experience as a high school baseball and basketball coach. He received his undergraduate degree in Elementary Education from UW-Madison and a master's degree in Educational Administration from UW-Milwaukee.

Joynt will replace Jesse Mazur, the associate principal for the last three years at Greendale High School. Mazur was recruited for a position as principal at Bay View High School in Milwaukee.

Mazur worked for the Milwaukee Public School District at Rufus King and Puilaski High Schools prior to coming to Greendale.

Greendale Superintendent William Hughes had this to say regarding Mazur, "We recruit them to grow them. While his leaving is a loss for the district, we recognize this as a positive move for him."  

Joynt will be joined by a second associate principal, Petersen. 

Petersen, who was the Dean of Students and taught orchestra at GHS since 2008, graduated with a degree in Instrumental Music Education from Lawrence University.

She has a master's degree in Education from UW-La Crosse and a master's degree in Educational Administration from UW-Milwaukee.
