Greendale, Greenfield Teachers' Signs Say Recall

Once again the Greenfield and Greendale teachers protest on 60th street overpass.

Gov. Scott Walker signed the budget repair bill today that strips collective bargaining rights from public employees but this did not stop Greendale and Greenfield teachers from gathering to protest on the 60th street overpass.

Teachers protested on Feb. 25 against the controversial bill on the same overpass. Today there were about 30 people, if not more, on the overpass as of 4:30 p.m. This time around many signs read the word "recall."

When asked why protest even after Walker already signed the bill a Greendale teacher and union representative said she worries about other rights.

"Just because the fight for workers' rights continues," said Greendale teachers union elect-president Colleen Perry. " We are just a chip off the old block. I think there will be more and more rights taken away as time goes on."
