Greendale Education Foundation Starts Program To Help Needy Families

The Greendale Education Foundation started a new program to help families pay for school field trips, school supplies and needed clothing.

Needy families with students enrolled in the Greendale School District can count on assistance from a new program called KidBoosters, according to a story on GreendaleNow.

The Greendale Education Foundation started KidBoosters to help students living in poverty because 30 percent of the students attending Greendale Schools are living in poverty, according to the story.

Former school superintendent William Hughes and former School Board member Judy Fons came up with the idea because the knew a lot of kids' parents couldn't afford to give them money for things like field trips, school supplies school and coats.
