Four Valedictorians Among Greendale's 2013 Graduates

Among the 218 students in Greendale’s 2013 graduating class were four students with cumulative grade-point averages of 4.0.

This year’s valedictorians were Miranda Joslin, Brad Julga, Sarah Kahl and Austin Lasch. All four students were given the opportunity to address their classmates and audience at Sunday’s commencement ceremony at Stephen J. Gavinski Stadium.

Joslin plans to attend Luther College in Decora, Iowa and major in studio art. She is the daughter of Brian and Barbara Joslin.

Julga is headed to Carroll University in Waukesha to major in biochemistry. His parents are Roger and Margaret Julga.

Kahl, the daughter of Brad and Sue Kahl, plans to attend Milwaukee School of Engineering this fall and study bimolecular engineering.

Lasch has been appointed to the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, CO. He is the son of Gary and Ellen Lasch.

Also among this weekend’s graduates was Brittany Carloni, who was awarded the 2013 Wisconsin Association of School Business Officials Scholarship honoring Erin Green.

Green, a longtime WASBO District Professional member and past president of Association of School Business Officials International, is Director of Business Services for Greendale Schools.

The $1,000 scholarship was created as a one-time award to honor Green’s dedicated service to the international organization.

Carloni will attend Marquette University in the fall.  She participated in the high school’s music program, was editor in chief of the school publication, Pioneer Outlook, and was a four-year member of the student technology team, MacPac.
