Nourish – Mind, Body and Environment Expo

Greendale Schools will host the Nourish – Mind, Body and Environment Expo on March 3.

This family-friendly event will feature vendors, resource booths, exhibits, demonstrations and other activities related to living a healthy and environmentally-friendly lifestyle. Admission is free and the event is open to the public.

“This expo is a culmination of the District’s wellness goal and will be a great way for families and community members to spend the day, engaging and learning about ways to nourish their minds and bodies and help keep Greendale green,” said Greendale Schools’ Community Outreach Coordinator Mindy Anderson.

Attendees will have the opportunity to try a wide range of exercise activities, such as self-defense, Zumba, yoga, circuit training, martial arts, volleyball, swimming, senior exercises and much more.  They will also have a chance to learn more about local community resources from area vendors.  Demonstrations and interactive displays on healthy cooking, gardening, water quality, renewable energy and much more.

The event’s keynote speaker will be John D. Shier RN, Ph.D., an author and registered nurse.  Dr. Shier will be giving two presentations: Live Long, Die Healthy at 11 a.m. and Being a Professional Patient at 12:30 p.m.  Other specialists will also give mini presentations on topics related to healthy and sustainable living.

The Nourish - Mind, Body and Environment Expo will be held Saturday, March 3 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Greendale High School, 6801 Southway.  For more information, call (414) 423-2700 x2724.

The expo is organized by the Greendale School District’s Wellness and Green Teams, in collaboration with Partners for Community Action, the Greendale Health Department and Step Up to Better Health Team.
