Community Conversation on Moving Greendale Schools into the Future

To kickoff its next round of Strategic Planning, will conduct a two-day community conversation called Creating Our Future with author and international speaker Gary Marx on Jan. 6 and 7.

Greendale Schools requires a new Strategic Plan that reflects current realties, as well as takes into account future issues and needs. The community conversation will inform Greendale residents about the recent changes in education, as well as give them a chance to provide input for the upcoming Strategic Planning process, which will continue in February and March.

“Greendale residents have a wealth of knowledge and experience that we can draw from,” said Superintendent of Schools William Hughes.  “The community conversation will ensure transparency and inclusiveness in our Strategic Planning process and help generate a dialogue on how we can work together to prepare our schools and children for the new global economy, building on the past successes and challenges.”

The conversation will be held at the library in and will starts on Friday, Jan. 6 from 7 p.m. to 8:45 p.m. and continues on Saturday, January 7 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the library in Greendale High School.

Gary Marx is the president of the Center for Public Outreach located in Vienna, Virginia, which provides counsel on future-oriented education, community, leadership, communication and democracy.  Marx is an international speaker, workshop leader and consultant.  He has also published numerous studies, including “Sixteen Trends: Their Profound Impact on Our Future” and “Future Focused Leadership: Preparing Schools, Students and Communities for Tomorrow’s Realities.”
