Local kindergarten through eighth grade girls showed off their new cheers on Friday, August 5, during a pep rally in Greendale High School's gymnasium.
The pep rally was the culmination of a week of cheerleading camp led by the Greendale High School cheer squad and coaches. Each day during camp, participants learned new dances, routines, cheers and stunts. In addition they met new friends, made crafts and snacks and played games.
Organizers say there were 140 girls who participated in Camp IwannaCheer this week.
The theme for this year's camp was 'Rock n' Roll Girls of Summer.' The annual event serves as a fundraiser for the high school cheer program in Greendale.
