Celebrating National Library Week in Greendale

Join the Greendale Public Library in a number of events this week, including workshops, refreshments, coloring contest and Lego Club.

will participate in National Library Week—a time to celebrate libraries and to promote library use and support.

This year’s theme is “You Belong at Your Library!” The Greendale Public Library has fun activities planned to celebrate this very special week!

April 8 to April 14:
The library will hold a week of Trivia with questions about Greendale Public Library. Contest forms are available at the Library beginning April 7. Submit your answers between April 8-14 for a chance to win a Greendale 75th Anniversary “Swag Bag”, which includes an official Greendale 75th Anniversary t-shirt, hat and mug. Trivia contest is open to adults age 18 and over. All entries are due at the library by 5 p.m. on Saturday, April 14.

April 9:

The library will kick off the week with refreshments from volunteer bakers.

April 10 @ 6 p.m.:

Learn how to browse, check out, and download titles from OverDrive onto a Kindle. Registration is required. Please visit the Library, call 423-2136, or email grnd.ref@mcfls.org for additional information or to register. Workshop to meet in the Lower Level Meeting Room of the Greendale Public Library.

April 12 @ 6:30 p.m.:

Patch and the Greendale Public Library present a Free Media 101 Workshop. Learn to promote your business or organization by engaging people with three great free media tools. Patch editors will walk you through the best ways to use Facebook, Twitter and Patch to spread the word. This is a free event; laptops are useful but not required. Snacks will be provided. April 14 @ 9 a.m.:

Lego Club for Grades 2nd through 4th. Registration is REQUIRED! Call the Greendale Library at 414-423-2136.

Culvers Coloring Contest
Culvers restaurants are once again helping Wisconsin libraries celebrate National Library Week by sponsoring their annual coloring contest. Children age 11 and under can enter by picking up coloring sheets from the library. Draw a picture of your favorite book, turn in the sheet at the library, and receive a coupon for a free scoop of Culvers custard. You can also enter to win a free kids meal. Last day to turn in sheets is April 27.
