3 Candidates File for School Board Positions

Deadline to file papers is Wednesday, Jan. 2 at 5 p.m.

Three candidates have filed papers to be on the ballot for three positions on the Greendale School Board this spring.

Incumbent Thomas Slota, board appointee Melanie Kuzmanovic and recent state assembly candidate Kathleen Weid Vincent have filed papers with the school district indicating their candidacies.

The other school board member up for election this year, Victoria McCormick, has not yet filed papers for the spring election; however, she also did not file papers of indicating she would not be running. The notification of non-candidacy was due Dec. 21.

The five-member Greendale School Board will have three open positions on the spring 2013 ballot.

The top two vote getters will serve three-year terms. The candidate coming in third will serve one year, filling the remainder of Jim Schutte’s term on the board, which is due to expire in 2014. Kuzmanovic was appointed to fill Schutte’s position this summer.
