Downtown Greendale Adds Another Jewel in Smaxx and Kade

The owners of Prescott Miller Jewelers have opened a second shop right next door.

Fans of the beautiful jewelry offered at Prescott Miller Jewelers looking for something a little different don’t have to go very far to find it.

The owners of Prescott Miller have opened Smaxx and Kade, another jewelry store right next door in downtown Greendale.

“Prescott Miller really focuses on gold and diamonds, the traditional jewelry store,” said Crista Kochanski, the stores’ marketing and events coordinator. “Smaxx and Kade focuses on silver and gemstones.  The pieces we’re choosing represent our tagline: bold, beautiful and brilliant.

“There are some real unique pieces here.”

Smaxx and Kade, 5631 Broadway St., opened Monday. The 800-square-foot store has its own store front, but customers can walk from between the new store and its sister store freely.

“They each have a very distinct look,” Kochanski said. “You can definitely tell which one you’re in.”

Among the lines of jewelry sold at Smaxx and Kade are Kameleon, a completely customizable jewelry collection made up with base pieces and countless different “jewelpops” that allow customers to design their own jewelry.

Both stores carry the Pandora line; in fact the stores are the second-largest retailer of Pandora in the Milwaukee area with the exception of an actual Pandora store in Mayfair Mall, according to Kochanski.

Kochanski said the reception to Smaxx and Kade has been warm through its first week.

“We’ve been getting really great feedback,” she said. “Greendale is such a unique community, and we’ve had people stop in just to wish good luck.”
