Village Says It's Too Early Analyze Effects of State Aid Cuts

The village board met on Tuesday night.

Greendale Village does not know what affects Gov. Scott Walker's budget proposal, if passed, will have in the village. One thing village president John Hermes said was that it was "going to be ugly for communities."

Walker presented a budget on Tuesday that calls for $1.25 billion in cuts to local government as well as other sweeping changes.

Trustee Sally A. Chadwick suggested on Tuesday's board meeting to take another look at Greendale's budget in a couple of weeks to double check the figures because "there is an awful lot going on in the state."

The rest of the board agreed.

Village manager Todd Michaels and Hermes both said that it was too early right now to analyze the effects of the proposed budget.
