Fourth of July Fireworks Display Show Time Increased

Comments from residents about the length of the show led to an increase in time for the fireworks display to 25 minutes instead of the usual 18 to 20 minutes.

Greendale’s Fourth of July Fireworks display will be extended this year to 25 minutes this year after some comments were made in the past that Greendale's display is shorter than other nearby communities.

The Greendale Village Board approved an additional $1,500 for the extension on April 17.

The Village is entering a one-year $9,000 contract with Melrose for a 25-minute display. 

Village funding for fireworks had not increased in 12 years. Since then it is likely the show has decreased in length as costs have gone up, according to a memo.
