Planning Commission Passes Permit for Brinkman Field Lighting

The Greendale School District and supportes are contributing to the total cost of $50,000.

The Greendale Planning Commission passed a permit on Wednesday, April 11 to install lighting at Brinkman II softball field located on the easterly grounds of Greendale High School.

School district supporters have been working to gather funds and donations to complete the project for the baseball field that is located at the end of Broad Street.

In March the school district approved $27,500 from the Fund 80 fund balance to meet the total cost of about $50,000.

A number of groups and vendors have pledged $22,500 for the project. The Nichols family has contributed a donation of $7,500 and the Greendale Panther Athletic Booster Club and Twi-Nite Baseball have also pledged another $7,500.

Village staff will work with the school district to correct any potential glare problems that may occur. The Board of Trustees will review the application and make the final decision.
