Planning Commission Approves Outdoor Dining for Ricardo's

Took two years for owners to get this far.

is one step closer to having outdoor dining.

The Greendale planning commission is recommending the Village Board to approve a building permit to have outdoor dining at Ricardo’s on Broad Street.

Village Manager Todd Michaels said that Richard Loch, the owner of the restaurant, has been struggling for two years in trying to create outdoor dining.

The struggles are due to serving alcoholic beverages outdoors. Michaels said outdoor dining needs to be in a regulated and controlled area if alcohol is going to be served.

As a solution Loch will build a fence around the area with about four tables and will be built in between the restaurant and the water fountain. He will add more table if there is enough space for comfortable seating.

Loch won't be able to expand in the future because then that would be going onto Granhaven property.

The Village Board will meet on July 19.
