Panda Express Gets the OK from Planning Commission

The proposed Panda Express would be built at the Old Leath furniture building. It's hours of operation would be 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

The Greendale Planning Commission passed a permit on April 11 for a proposed Panda Express at a portion of the old Leath furniture building subject to conditions set by the planning consultant.

As reported earlier by Patch, the Greendale Board of Trustees  that Leath Furniture previously occupied on 76th street from the main   site where Panda Express would like to build.

In March the commission reviewed the application and tabled it so that Village staff could work with Panda Express on revisions in areas, such as sidewalk extensions, landscape plans, parking spaces sizes and signage.

Longhorn Steakhouse, another restaurant, is rumored to be coming alongside Panda Express.

The Leath building, which has been vacant for several years, is located on the northwest corner of the mall property. Before Leath Furniture was in the building, Sears Home Life occupied it. Leath Furniture closed all its Milwaukee-area locations four years ago.

The restaurant will be open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. The hours might change if the restaurant brings a request to the Village.

The Village Board will review the application and make the final decision.
