Greendale Trustees Show Support for Marching Band

The village board approves a resolution proclaiming Nov. 20, 2012 as Greendale High School Marching Band Day in honor of the band's eighth consecutive state championship.

The Greendale Village Board is pretty proud of the Greendale High School marching band and they want them to know it.

The board unanimously approved a resolution Tuesday declaring Nov. 20, 2012 Greendale High School Marching Band Day in the village.

The band recently won their eighth consecutive Class AA Division title in the Wisconsin School Music Association’s State Marching Band Championship. At the championship the band also took home awards for best musical presentation, best visual presentation and best colorguard.

The band also competed in the Bands of America Grand Nationals competition Nov. 9 in Indianapolis and was one of only two bands from Wisconsin to compete there.

Although none of the members of the band were present at the meeting Tuesday, village President John Hermes said he hopes to get them and the band director together in the near future to officially present them the award.
