Greendale Schools Open Monday Despite Coliform Bacteria in Water
Schools will have bottled water on hand for staff and students.
Greendale schools will be open on Monday, Oct. 3, The schools' lunch will be served, and all events will go on as scheduled. Water will be available for bathroom purposes.
Due to the potential health risks, Greendale Schools will have free bottled water available students and staff. They may also bring their own bottled water to school Monday and until further notice.
Water fountains and other tap water sources will be covered and/or clearly marked in the schools with a water notice from the Village of Greendale.
The Village of Greendale declared a precautionary boil/bottle water order on Oct. 2; it is in effect until further notice.

Water samples collected Sept. 28 and 30 during routine testing indicated and confirmed the presence of coliform bacteria.
The annual Preview of Champions—a community event sponsored by Greendale Schools and a fundraiser for the high school marching band—was underway at Gavinski Stadium today with free bottled water for the about 2,000 people who attended.
