Greendale's 75th Anniversary Celebration Kicks Off Next Week

A special ceremony is planned for Wednesday, May 1, exactly 75 years to the day when the Village opened to new residents back in 1938.

The kickoff to the Village of Greendale’s 75th Anniversary celebration is just days away.

On Wednesday, May 1, the Village will commemorate its official anniversary date – Greendale opened to new residents on May 1, 1938 – and its National Historic Landmark designation, which it received last fall.

The event is slated for 4 p.m. on the front lawn of Village Hall. A portion of Northway and Broad Street will be closed during the event. Local and state officials will be on hand at the event, which will also feature music free food and beverages.
