Changes on Tap for Greendale 4th of July Parade

Changes include line-up location and timing of Children's Parade.

Participants in Greendale's upcoming 4th of July parade will not be lining up this year in the Southridge Mall parking lot as in years past.

Due to construction at the mall,  "the parade line-up will be on the westbound lane of W Grange Ave. between S 68th St and Northway.  Parade participants should enter from either S 68th Street or westbound Grange Ave.  These lanes will be shut down to westbound traffic and motorists will be redirected prior to the line up. The line-up will begin at 9 a.m.," according to a release by Greendale Village Clerk Kathy Kasza.

The parade itself will follow the usual route – Northway to Broad St to Southway.

Another change this year will involve the Children's Parade.  This year the Public Celebrations Committee has separated the children’s unit from the regular parade to allow them to finish and watch the remainder of the parade.  The Children’s Parade will start at 9:45 AM.

In the past, the Children's Parade has immediately preceded the main parade down Broad Street

The day's festivities will kick off with a reading of the 'Declaration of Independence' at 9 am.

The regular parade is scheduled to start at 10 am., followed by an ice cream giveaway at the end of the parade in Jaycee Park .
